She seemed to be limping pretty badly whilst doing the young horse classes at burghley - someone else trotted the horses up for her - wonder if thats why.

I swear Ruth rode Mr Dumbledore at Burghley & retired xc?!
She wouldn't be doing a 3* the weekend after a 4* surely?

She did but as retired at fence 6 no problem doing the 3*.

She only did the dressage and jumped 6 xc fences - it won't have taken much out of him. It's not uncommon to re-route after something like that happens. She'll be looking for a confidence building round with him.
