We took on a 22 year old pony recently for my 8 year old daughter and he really is an absolute saint. Aside from the fact he is completely unflappable and patient he did something today which made me smile today which really showed what a sweetie he is.
My daughter is insisting on doing everything herself which is great but when it comes to picking out his feet I secretly double check them just to make sure she has got the mud out of the cleft etc and I was picking his right back leg up and he kind of wobbled and leant on me I thought that's strange as he never fidgets and I look through his hind legs to see my daughter has picked up his left fore to check! The poor lad was balancing on two feet!
Pointless post but it made me smile ... You can just imagine him rolling his eyes and thinking "what are you two numpties doing now?! <sigh> I'll put up with it for now and just think about being back out in the field with grass"
