No snow, no rain....off I pops to ride.

Desi has 3 shoes only.....hoof is fine, no splits or cracks. He's not footsore at all.

This has never happened before in the history of the world....my farrier is fab, Deis has good feet and so I can only put it down to the ferocious mud in the gateway.

Farrier is booked for 2 weeks.....he lives a fair distance away but is an absolute superhero and if I rang him he would fit me in......however me getting time off would be a problem....we take turns when he comes between me, OH and my mate and next time its my mates turn.

What would you do? I am fine not to ride him, I can ride the young one instead. Ground is very soft and shouldnt cause him to get sore but I am concious he will be unlevel.

Do you think he will be ok to leave until farrier comes at his scheduled time or should I get him out sooner?

Loki has terrible feet and is prone to lameness and is on remedial shoeing. He lost a shoe on his worst foot about ten days ago, due to snow my farrier wasn't able to get out for a week and he was booked to be shod ten days later anyway, so we decided to leave it.

I have been really suprised but he has been fine no footiness at all and farrier came this morning and sorted him out, said there was no damage to the foot.

What I am trying to say in a long rambling way lol is that if Loki can do it, I would think a normal horse would cope as well if you had to wait

as you say being unlevel would not be good. personally would NEVER ride a horse with a shoe missing because of this. Both fronts off and not sore then yes but not one
