Hiya, just wondering on peoples opinions/ what is correct.
Bling in the show ring, yay or nay?
I have a small unaffiliated show coming up and i wondered if a bling browband would be okay to use?
I will try and attach a picture of the horse in the bridle but the browband is similar to this (CLICK) except silver.
Also would i be okay riding in a white saddle pad or would it be best to switch her to a numnah?
The classes i will be doing are ridden TB, Veteran and ridden horse i think.
If i need new things then i will get them but if what i have is okay then thats better :D
TIA
Leah

For me bling is a no no in the show ring - even local. Link is not working but what colour is horse? If you can't get a numnah in colour of the horse (for example grey with a natural sheepskin numnah) then it should be the colour of your saddle.

Ideally no bling but at local unaffiliated level it might not matter too much, depends how well/badly everyone else is turned out. Just remove the saddle pad and go without if you want to save your pennies.

ETA Good Luck!

This is her and the bridle aforementioned.

Sorry if the pics are massive

Bling is a big no no for showing. Your browband is best off being plain and a numnah of the same colour as your saddle, or no numnah at all. Definitely no saddle cloths.

Agree no bling in the ring and no white saddle cloths a numnah that matches your saddle, you can buy the velvet and ribbon browbands for about £25 they have some sparkle on them and are correct for showing.

Find yourself a plain leather browband and a neat numnah.
The reasoning behind the plain-ness of showing tack is that it is the horse who is on display. By all means enhance what you have by judicious placing of noseband plaits etc but blingy tack draws the eye to it, not to the horse's good points.
