Bling - is it a show jumper thing, a dressage thing, or both?

I am just advertising on Facebook for someone to lend me £2000 so I can buy the Albion SLK dressage saddle I sat on today and fell in love with, plus a matching bling bridle.

But someone has suggested that I shouldnt have bling as I am not a show-jumper

Surely I can wear bling as an attempting-dressage person?

Oh, and anyone got £2k they can lend me?

I'll pay you back in installments, I promise

Hey hun, I am currently not-quite-a-happy-hacker and I bling with the best of them

As to the £2000, sorry, no - I do however have an old toffee, a bit of fluff, oh, and a small piece of string. Any good???

well i do dressage and i have all the bling stuff i know for affilated they dont like it but tbh i love it im the only person on my yard that has it makes me feel special i only get it out for comps and commonrides though as it adds a bit of flair however my spurs have the crystals on them :P (present for my 18th might i add)

Oh, I think we just about own the BLING!! Patent Konig boots and Amerigo bridles, amazingly sparkley Otto Schumacher browbands and stockpins!!! I am a proud owner of a bling bridle, that looks stunning when competeing under lights! As for the 2 grand Splotchy, I have just spent all my savings on my new PSG horse! Sorry...... x

bling is very much a dressage thing... can't have too much diamante but I think dressage bling is different from sj bling - they don't have pink, red or baby blue Tretorn boots to start with....

You know, I think the piece of string might be a good bargaining tool..... I'll phone the saddlers on Monday and ask them

Well I havent even affiliated yet, so that would be OK..... it kind of begs the question why I am wanting to buy a dressage saddle when I am still doing unaff mind you

Bling= disgusting! Hate it- give me nice dark brown/ black leather anyday. Looks smarter and neater and cooler. Dunno if this is from a strict PC DC who hates anything remotely sprkley, or just my own good taste :P

I thing a little for dressage is fine

. Show jumping have less "regulations" on what you can wear i suppose.

I know someone who was marked down slightly for wearing alot of bling.

I know, it's a pain it's all so expensive!! I saved for ages over the last year to buy flights to go see my family in the States, but now I have new horsey I won't have time to go - also A-levels!!! So may buy just a double with my trip money, as you can detach the second set of cheekpieces and make a snaffle - 2 bridles in 1! lol!
