I rather fancy one of those V-shaped browbands with a bit of bling for Fergs. He's got a blingy normal one:

(old pic! just unplaited his mane)

I'd like one similar, but possibly in a deep red or orangey colour and v-shaped, but I can't find one  So...

1. Has anyone seen any / any good places to look?

and

2. Is it a complete abomination to put bling on a highland? :D

I like the idea of a V shaped brow band, particularly on a Highland.. and while I'm not a fan of blind I do think the V shaped blings look better than the regular bling'd ones :D No idea where to find a decent one though, my Connemara is bling free :p Maybe Pink Equine? They often have good sales, and have pretty much any kind of bling you can think of! :) Must say Fergs is exceedingly handsome! Love a native :D xx

Thanks very much! Yes, his blue one is pink equine - and they do a nice orangey one, but it's not v-shaped (or I've not seen one!). I'd definitely get one if they had it though as his blue one's stood up to abuse / wear and tear really well.

I think v-shaped would be nice on his broad head, not so sure about the wavy ones though - don't think they'd sit right :o They have nice plain-ish ones at ISC but they're really narrow and I don't think they'd look right either.

I'm so fussy :D

Bling's not my thing but there are loads on ebay (v shaped browband as search term). Agree that V shaped are nicer than straight especially as your pony has such a pretty head!

I had no idea bling was so popular! :) May have to play around with making some.

Lots of v-shaped ones on ebay.

1. Don't know if this place would be any good... Saddlery4u2 on Ebay - they have a browband option that you can choose the leather colour, shape and crystal colours... Blingy browband

2. Who cares if you like them and he doesn't roll over crying when made to wear it... :)

Stop making me want a highland pony  If they can wear bling I will have no more excuses.....

I like Dolly's browband in the pics on 'Daughter and Dolly' threads, one of those would look lovely on Fergs.

I'll bring mine to isleham and you can try it on if you like? Not that it has orange sparkles

I see your flounce didn't last long ;):p

phwoar, perfect! I think we might have a winner, if they do orangey or red crystals! :D Thanks very much :D

I had a trawl through ebay but couldn't find any in the right colour scheme... Clearly I wasn't looking hard enough as they do custom ones :p

Yes Dolly's is nice... What I really want is D&D's pirate gear though - that is totally cool :D

Ofc highlands can wear bling :D You NEED one. Everyone does :D Especially when dressage seems to be our only competitive option left. Just ordered a competition square with some dead sheep lining, so only need bling now to fit in. The lack of warmblood means we need to compensate with dead sheep and sparkles :D

Thanks very much, he is pretty :D You've confirmed my need for one then :p

Definitely try pink equine, I've just been drooling over their things and counting my pennies ;) He'd look gorgeous in bling!

Just checked - some lovely wavy ones but none to my specs. Some lovely patriotic red white and blue ones though :D

My flounce didn't even make it off that thread :p :D I definitely think knobberts' is too thin and delicate for the brute's head, thanks anyway. How were your brakes? :)

Yes and that can stretch to any native, not just highlands!

lol you're being out-voted :D

How about red,white and blue?

They do some others as well, don't know what the qualities like though but if it's nothing special at least it's cheap :D

That might well be a great deal for someone - but my OCD is actually screaming at the asymmetry of the pattern and how there are two red patches right in the middle separated by only one row of white

I has issues :o

Thanks for the link though :)

They do indeed... Lots of... :)

This is the link to the crystal colour options they sent me when I enquired what was available... Crystal Colour Chart

:)

Even better  I wonder if I contact them, they might do me one with orange leather padding, like my blue one has... Or would that be overkill? :o

(and they do them in large draft sizes :p I may be able to bully my mate into getting one when she gets her new percheron :D )

Breaks fine ta, steering left a lot to be desired :o:eek:

I'll do a report when I get home including jumping the wing.....

There are even colours that I could live with on a bridle - and it's common knowledge how resistant I am to bling!! I may be tempted by a smoky quartz one!!

:D My young bay doesn't know it yet but he will be introduced to a havana version with Copper and Golden Shadow from the link they sent me... Subtle but sparkly...

:)

I think I'm going to have to lock Dolly's pirate gear up!! The worst part is we also have pirate saddle cover, tail bandage and fly mask!!!

And a rainsheet which doesn't fit her :( OH is going to get creative with that - I might end up with a matching coat LOL!!!:D

Get bling on that pony of yours! I think a V browband would look lovely on him!! Dolly's got quite a big head I think :o and I think it softens it! :D

My boy is half carthorse - I remain unconvinced that he would benefit from sparkle. But Dafthoss has been nagging me. Apparently he NEEDS bling!
