Blingy browband?

I have unfortunately gone to the dark side as daughter very kindly bought my horse a beautiful browband with grey pearls on. It's still tasteful but he's an eventer fgs. Only wears it for prancing tho'.

If you are doing pure showjumping it's de rigeur to have lots of bling and/or pink stuff and be super matchy matchy ;-)

p.s. how are you?!

I'm good thanks Nicnac :). How are you? Concentrating on Sj ATM as just can't afford the outlay on the eventing :(. Missing it tho. I have caved and bought one, it is just a thin chain type one, and she has a pretty head so think it's ok lol.

I have 2! One for hacking and one for jumping..... I got mine from equine elegance on Facebook. Really good quality and loads of choice of colour and thickness of browband. She's really helpful too, definitely recommend!

She does have a pretty head :-) All good here - just started season with Rackham as first as he threw a splint just before Chilham so gave him 10 weeks of walk to ensure it had hardened properly. Off to Tweseldown this weekend. Can you do tickets? Let me know if you are out and about and we can arrange a meet.

I event in Australia and apparently, we are notorious for having a lot of bling... :)

I have a couple of Equiture browbands for my boys. I like a little bling, but not a whole heap.

Here is my TB in his...

Thanks nicnac, would love to meet up, but not sure we will get anywhere this season :(. Someone crashed into the back of me a few weeks ago, and the physio I saw told me I shouldn't ride, I would ignore him, but it's so painful that I think he's right :(. Glad yours is on the mend.
Naenae, yours are all gorgeous. I will try and post a pic of my girlie when it arrives, I wish I would work out how to pic put pi in a thread like you, and not just a link.

I used to have equiture ones but I'm not impressed with the quality at all, the majority of the crystals fell out and the glue yellowed despite me taking good care of them. They just looked really tacky in under 3 months :(

I now use Brass clencher browbands that I have polished and they look really smart and shine in the sun/under lights similar to how the blingy ones shine. They actually stand out as well as not many people seem to use them anymore :( I have also noticed from some of the shows on the continent I have done that hardly anyone uses blingy browbands!

I have an old brass clencher browband that looks fab when it is all polished up. Have you found anywhere that stocks good quality ones - all the ones I have found look a bit naff compared to me 15+ year old one! Unfortunately my oldie is starting to look a bit worn, with a few dents and a few of the clenches coming a bit loose!

IMO there is nothing better than a Brass Clencher Browband! I think Fancy stitch ones come a close second for me!

I've got 2 requisite ones on my work bridles that are not too bad. I've got a really nice EQVS one I use on one of my mare's show bridles, it's thinner than the usual ones so suits her delicate face:

I've seen Dobert and Dyon ones up close and they look really nice and smart, pricey but are likely to last long as they looked really good quality.

Hope this helps!

I have to agree with you Polos. My boy wears a clincher broadband, i have even put it on his Micklem bridle. I often get comments about how nice it looks.

I've just bought an Equiture one and it's gorgeous! CK Equine do a lovely curved clincher browband that I would quite like too.
