Gah, my flippin mare will turn me grey overnight I swear, if its not one thing its another.

After being given the go ahead by the vet on thurs to start trot work after bringing her back from box rest I was sooooo happy and had a big smile on my face after riding her and trotting for the first time in 6 months!!

Farrier came this am, and was about to start putting on shoes and she completely flipped out as someone was using a chainsaw and she couldn't see where the noise was coming from. Its not the first time she has heard one

but this time she would not settle and carrots, haylage, calming voice, radio on high, would not calm her. Farrier said no way to putting shoes on, and went off to next job

Mare continued to buck, bronc, snort for the next hour in the stable, completely bonkers.....
Not sure when farrier can come back, and tbh it exhausts me how easily mare gets her knickers in a twist over nothing....
Pointless post, just wondered if someone can sympathise

or can tell me that WB's grow up one day! She is rising 7!

She does have good feet, but she has been having pads injected with silicone on since her joint problems, I daren't risk it as heel has been raised slightly using this method, I guess she could go on the walker tho....

I sympathise, that is just the sort of thing that my mare does occasionally, for no reason at all sometimes. She's TB and is still not very grown up at 20 years old, I don't know whether WBs mature a bit quicker than that!

Years ago they used to say that a warmblood got to 8 before its brain switched on.

If it is any help mine is 9 this year and last year was the first year I was able to take him out competing without a large does of Bach's Rescue Remedy inside me!

Her sire is Kingston, grandsire Topas, great grandsire Marco Polo, with G. Ramiro Z as her great grandsire on granddams side.
She is out of a mare called Sien, her grandsire on her dams side is Cool Cracker...

I ended up with her as she was a complete lamb in the stable and she's quite fizzy being ridden which I like. She was also a good price as her conformation isn't quite the best. However, she is very spooky, and does let things wind her up, which I have only discovered since owning her.... I'm praying that when she is back in full work she will revert back to the horse I bought! Confidence at the mo is at yo-yo stage!

If that is true I only have a year to go then! At least thats something.... she was still being a nutter this afo when I went down to see t her. YO and me took horses (2) out for some grass as fields too wet and she just reared and reared and reared when a man chopping wood made her jump. She settled in the end when she realised he wasnt an axe murderer!
I do have second thoughts about her on days like this

My WB is 14 in April - please could someone tell him to switch his brain on! He has also been without shoes for about 10 weeks now and is fine.
