BLISS bedding?

I mucked it out for a friend for 2 weeks about 2 years ago now, and I found it more hell than bliss. Other people however absolutely swear by it.

We used it... much cheaper than shavings but all ours were allergic to it and came up in hives, even the one that is for sensitive horses. They have never reacted to anything else just bliss because of the chemicals they use to stop them eating it.
Its worth a try, but we won't be going back to it.

I rang them to ask about the chemicals they use and they said not they only use pure eucalyptus oil and nothing else. they did use a chemical before but they told me it was banned...

I've used it for a couple of years and it's very absorbent and easy to clean out. However, it is dusty when you have a dig-out. The smell takes a bit of getting used to also.

It's the absorbency that I like, but if anyone can recommend something as absorbent without the dust (apart from Aubiose!)...please let me know!

OH!! a bedding i have not heard of, I make it my mission to try each and every bedding i come across!
Lol i am a serial bed hopper!!

What is Bliss?

Bliss is a dust free hemp/stropped straw type bedding that is coated with eucalyptus oil so good for horses with copd etc.
One of my liveries uses it and deep litters - it is quite easy to muck out but I do not find it as absorbant as shavings, and can't bear the way the eucalyptus smell hangs around when you put a fresh bale in!!
We can buy shavings at £4.50 a bale, so Bliss at approx £8 is quite an expensive option in our area.
