I love Blitz

He didn't win or even get placed today but he is such a lovely boy to do and train and one day he is going to be mega.

It was lovely to meet Team Carthorse and FMC - *waves* Raffi is a superstar but I will let them tell you just how well they did.

6 weeks ago Blitz was in the vets following a field accident where he was impaled on a fence post and it really was touch and go

- but he is a tough cookie and with just 4 weeks work he went to Addington to do the Open Novice.

He produced some lovely work but a couple of expensive mistakes (dodgy halt and rein back and a flying change in the counter canter!
ooo.gif
) meant he finished with 62% and in the bottom half. Two of the judges really liked him and one not so much.

He is ring green, and in particular championship green, but he really rose to the occasion and took everything in his stride. I can honestly say he did not put a foot wrong and I was so proud of him I had to choke back a big lump in my throat

.

He moves beautifully and even against some of the more produced horses he showed mega paces that in the fullness of time will really show results.

We had a lovely weekend and the best bit was a happy sound Feureblitz strutting his stuff

Well done, flying changes in the wrong place do make me laugh but then I'm not the rider

Hope Addington behaved themselves.

I loved meeting you and Blitz , wow what a stunning chap . I am sure there are great things to come. What great stables and what beautiful horses were there today , I bet tomorrow will be the same. Keep up the good work

Sounds like he aquitted himself really well esp as a few weeks back it was touch and go whether he'd make it there, or anywhere!
Just a couple of green mistakes can have you sliding down the scoreboard pretty rapidly at regionals and championships, esp when you consider some of the leaders will have started at medium level.

Sorry not to have seen you, Mark or the lovely Puff, ooops sorry, Blitz!

But as explained in my own thread, I was done in and had probably gone!

Really well done, i know what you mean about feeling proud. I wasnt going to regionals until 2 days before entry's closed as i was awaiting x-ray results, & i didnt have anywhere near as many problems as you did with Blitz.

Blitz is definitely made of strong stuff, really pleased for you.
