In the ARENA!!
mad.gif

I've asked them nicely (a few weeks back mind) to pick it up after they ride, at the time they tried to deny having ever left any in there
mad.gif
but said in future they would pick it up.

So last week i went to ride one day and bear B isn't riding at the moment and i hadn't ridden the day before and there were 2 poos in the arena so picked them up before i rode.

THEN Sunday, we (me, liveries and B's horse was schooled for him) all had lessons, they have theirs first and then they f**ked off home leaving the arena with about 3 of their horses poos in it which i had to then pick up before my own lesson!!

Them leaving their horses poo in the arena after their lessons at the weekend is a regular thing, they ALWAYS leave it for someone (B or myself) to pick up, every week.

ETA I know some of you have previously suggested dumping it in their stables
wink.gif
not sure i am brave enough to do this!

Are you the YO? If so I would warn them once more and if it happens again stick a padlock on the entrance to the school. They might take your requests a little more seriously then
tongue.gif

Fine them £1 a poo left behind!
set up cctv so it records who does what ( or tell them you have!)
makeit easy for the to do it,and for yorself,
a pooper scooper and big trug by the gate, so no excuse.

I did think that you should put in the stables, but i dont think that is fair on the horse.

How about putting up a sign which says livery prices will increase if owners do not start to pick up their poo! or that they will be charged extra for arena hire?

When you involve money it always makes people listen!

totally agree though, its really annoying and im lucky we are all very good at my yard.

Are you the YO?

If you are you need to put your foot down NOW!

Introduce a warning system, 3 warnings= they are out!!! No ifs/buts. It sounds like they don't respect you. Rules are there for a reason so you need to make sure they are respected. Easier said than done, I know, but once you've got their respect things should be a lot better, they obviously think they can get away with this!

And when they do pick it up, the b*ggers seem to remove all the rubber and miss half the dropping
wink.gif
!!!

Admittedly everyone forgets sometimes - maybe stick a large sign reminding them on the gate, and if this doesn't work, threaten to charge (or put in stable)!

wow im shocked at this poo thread. We dont have to pick ours up as YO says its bio anyway!
I would if I was asked too though, My youngster does sloppy ones so it would be difficult
maybe they were distracted or plainly forgot so a gentle hint should be enough as they will prob be embaressed to be told, I would
frown.gif

It drives me mad when other liveries do this - do they think it disappears or that it's magically removed by the s**t fairy?! So rude
mad.gif

Leave a sign saying increase in livery by £5 a week for Arena Maintenance and topping up of the surface periodically if people don't start picking up poo when they've used arena.
And definitely implement it!

Like the fining them £1 a poo haha!
grin.gif

Well there is a poo scooper thing RIGHT BY THE GATE which is NEXT to the MUCK TRAILER couldn't be easier you'd think?

They don't keep their horses in, they just put them in stables occasionally during the day.

No not in charge of the yard if i was then they would be long gone, but it seems to get left to me to tell them to tidy after themselves.
frown.gif

Liveries seem to think its MY job to clear it up...

And the ONE time i forgot to pick up my horses, they were pretty quick to let me know about it

This is going to sound mean but hey ho. Poo in the arena is actually not that big of a deal, if that's the most you've got to worry about I'm very jealous. Most people are reasonable and while everyone forgets once in a while if you just ask them they shouldn't have a problem picking it up. UNLESS - they hate you and are doing it on purpose to wind you up OR - they are muppets who don't understand you, and yards full of muppet liveries are invariably ran by a t*t.

<font color="purple"> very possibly, we're not best of friends at the moment to say the least

If your yard owner locks the school - they can't use it.

Worked at my old yard. No one left droppings in there again.

Get a sign made up.... get B to sign it ...... copy it , laminate it and then pin it up on the gate of the arena.... I was going to to suggest their foreheads but that may not be a good idea

use it as the final warning then start getting the school locked as suggested above

Hmm now which would work best lock the arena or lock the shed where the floodlight switch is?!
wink.gif
Not sure B will be up for that though he's none too impressed with keep picking up after them either.

PS AmyMay i would love to meet you shame you are so far away!

If it were me I would padlock the school, or pick it up and put it in their stables

mwahaha
grin.gif
I might have to do that soon with the lazy people at our yard
smirk.gif

At the mo our lazy so and sos leave poo/feet pickings out etc outside my stable, so I pick it all up and put it in the entrance to their block
smirk.gif
They have two horses and its only them that use the entrance so no harm to horses, just a message to lazyasses
wink.gif
It seems to be working a bit as there is less and less appearing.
grin.gif

I think the problem is that the liveries do not see you as any kind of authority - so ignore your requests.

Your YO sounds pretty spineless and useless to me I'm afraid. And if they're not prepared to take any action - then in your shoes I would just leave all well alone.

Let the poo pile up, and let him sort out the problem.........

You are right, they see me as the skivvy and seem to think its my job to clear up after everybody.
mad.gif

I just hate poo in the arena though! They must know that i think.
