No but I was convinced mine had a blocked tear duct last week but vet suggested it wasn't, have been bringing him in all day and turning him out at night and it seems to be clearing up. Think it is just the flies as they are out in force here, along with the hot weather. Might be worth a try - keeping him out of the sun during the day first, then at least you can eliminate that being the problem?
My boy has had his done twice, never fully cleared the blockage though. He was sedated and had a long catheter inserted up through his nose and saline squirted through.
The second time he had less sedation (due to age) the vet only had short catheters and it was a disaster! He was a nightmare and wouldn't let her insert the catheter, or would wait until she had then pull his head up.
As the blockage never fully cleared, he has a steroid cream (maxitrol I think) every couple of days and that keeps it fairly settled.
Thanks for the replies he had dye in yesterdsy to see if anythimg appeares from his nose but onlh a small amount appeared after 40 minutes ' could he have a partislly blocked tesr duct ?
Blephasol ... U can buy this stuff over the counter (it's made for humans) and is fab at unblocking human tear ducts -- it's worth a try b4 any invasive procedure - you just wipe the eye with it - it's fab stuff.
