my horse's mane has always fallen to the left, much to my annoyance, because I like things to be right

. For the past couple of days it has gone nuts and has started to fall over to the right - not in one specific place but all the way up his neck (only half the mane though). His mane has been a lot shorter and a fair bit longer, and has never done it.

Is it foolish to hope that it may be attributable to him getting better muscles through schooling in an outline in a new comfy saddle? Or do manes just change sides for no reason? (Ethel prepares herself to look really stupid now, and is a bit scared)

My Welshie pony's mane used to change sides occasionally, I never really thought about what caused it though. It's certainly not going to kill him or you, although if your horse isn't smart enough for camp then who knows, you may get chucked out!

My YO has a horse that had his mane on the wrong side for years... it never swapped or anything. He then went out in a thunderstorm and ever since it has been on the correct side.
