My little JRT bitch has had diahorrea for the past 4 days, there is some blood in it. I considered the first two days that perhaps she had just done a rather large poop (sorry guys) and torn her bum, but now its still going on so is going to the vets tomorrow.

Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

She is bright, eating and excercising normally.

She's my little angel, vet will think Im a hypocondriact, vicariously through my dog lol but I don't care, she's too precious to care! I hope it is just that. They had beef marrow bones last week and I was worried she had torn something internally

blood in poo is either black or red. black means there is GI bleeding further up the tract (like SI or near the stomach) and it goes black as it is digested.
If it is red it is lower digestive tract bleed or could indicate worms (dont know if she is wormed)
good job you are taking her to the vet, it could be what you originally thought, or could be more severe!

hope she is ok!

Good idea to go to vets. Only time Ive found blood in my dogs poo is when they had giardia (parasite) when they were pups and I first got them. Took a while to clear up for them but are now fine. Hope doggies ok and not too dehydrated.

I did a capillary refill test yesterday and they filled quite quickly, so I hope she's not too dehydrated.

Vets have said no food til 2.30 tomorrow! Poor Lil - she's going to be starving! (and worse my other JRT will be having his food like normal and even though I wont let her see it - she'll still know)

I hope she forgives me!
