I have to have a horse blood tested for stangles and EVA before going to stud. Is that two lots of blood that need taken or can they do both test from one lot of blood? How long it will take to get the results back? Also, does she get a certificate or something, and how long would that be valid for ? (i.e. if she didn't go to the stud for a month say, would I need to do it again?). Any idea of cost too?
Thanks

You might get more responses to this if you post in breeding. Lots of ppl in there will have done this :-)

when i had my horse tested for strangles and herpes (respiratory infection) it was 2 separate vials of blood and took just under 5 days (and that was on rush) for the results to come, which were then faxed over to the vets from the labs on headed paper etc. whether a certificate or similar is available on request i dont know

it will be two differnt vials. Best bet is to phone your vet for an estimate as each vet uses a different laboratory with different costs and time scales.
