Hi all
My gelding 3yrs 8mths pulled him in from field Thurs evening he had lost a dramatic amount of weight in 2 days! Like something was inside him was sucking everything in he looked very down & was not eating his food or hay & tucked up I stabled him following morning I went up his bed was so clean hay not touched still looked awful I called the vet he had 2 bloods taken! Cleared no worms later that day vet called said he has very very high protein in his blood jopeing its a infection in his liver or kidney has put him on meds following day much perker before having any meds (as had to collect from vets) he seemspre perker & meds given today happier eating but still not touching his hay! Whatever was sucking all of him in is not no more very confused! Vet said cannot have anything to do with his feed he's on c/c & mix I'm completely baffled anyone hears of this before? What could of caused this very high protein or/& the infection? We can nothing g but grass he can munch on
Vets hoping its a infection as not managed to pin point it yet whatever it is
