blood tonic supplement

I was wondering if a blood tonic supplement can cause loss of appetite and even cellulitis in an older horse?
It was recommended for a friend to try her horse on and initially he was doing well and gained an appetite but just over a week later the horse has lost appetite and seems very down.

Could it be because the horse is de-toxing? What kind of blood tonic supplement is it? Just an idea!

I'm not 100% sure which one it is But can find out later.
The horse has been on it for nearly 2 weeks, about a week ago he lost his appetite, seemed on a downer and had cellulitis.
