bloodline help

I don't know much about the intricacies of the bloodlines of the Gelders but I myself had a half Gelderlander eventer and absolutely adored him. If crossed with a quality Gelder (there are lots of crap ones imported to the UK) then you can really see where the modern WB came from. Chez had more talent in one hoof than most horses. The unfortunate side to him was that he was very sharp. Most of those that I have know (cross breeds and pure) have also tended to be very sharp and sensitive natured. The type of horses that if they trust you they will always give 110% but who's trust is easily lost if you know what I mean.

I had a quick look online and found the following information for Pion - Foundation stallion of the KWPN Dutch Warmblood Society. Pion sired a large collection of licensed sons and successful sport horses. His approved offspring was Aktion, Argus and Democraat. He sired Grand Prix dressage horses Aktion, Allure, Remember and Duphar and Prix St Georges horses Picasso, Conquestador, Cosmos, I'm A Star, Inovation and Pione. He also passed on good show jumping qualities to international horses such as Hermann's Paledo, Adora, Diamond Forever and Endeavour.

I've not had any experience of the Gelderlander so no help there, sorry.

Hi Horsenut. No it's not the same horse. The "I'm A Star" you're thinking of was a TB registered with the Irish Horse Board by Crowned Prince.

hi, we have a yearling filly who is by the gelders horse of the year 2006 'Koss', he is by El Corona who is by Amor, which is in the pedigree if the horse you put the link to. Koss was also nominated for KWPN horse of the year 2006, he is duel purpose, doing dressage and jumping at the higher levels. I don't have alot of experience of them as a breed, just of this filly that we have. Is the mare yours???
