Bloodlines and broodmares

What are your favorite bloodlines and sires. I am in love with the Rubenstein line and really like quite a few of his sons. I have been lucky to meet two of them and they had the most lovely temperaments.

May seem silly but also wanted to know what you thought on broodmares and must haves for a quality mare; I always look for movement because I think that if they can move well then they are normally put together well and I also like a confident and trainable temperament too. Have tried to to look at previous offspring to get an idea of what she produces too.

Have to say if I was going to buy another broodmare I would look for a proven motherline first and fore most. Then from that selection of mares I would look for an athletic well made mare, sound, and with a trainable temperament.
Breeding is actually a very personal thing so what might send one breeder over the moon might not be so exciting for someone else. For example I love the family of the Elite Trakehner stallion Consul, so get excitied if I see a mare with him in the pedigree or from his motherline. I also love Weltmeyer and recognise what a great broodmare sire he is, so again I always look twice if I see a mare by him.

As a breeder off over 15 yrs experiance has taught me to reserch way back on the dams bloodlines, temperament and ridability being number 1 and a good proven dam line with a good mix off s.j foundation lines as well as established Dressage Foundation sires.in my oppion the dam 75% off your future foal,
it is a mine field sometimes but such a pleasure when it all comes right.Good Broodmares hard to find.
