Does anyone know whether it is possible to get these tested yourself by liasing with the lab, or does it have to be done through the vet who did the vetting? I'm being quoted £380 to have them tested (a mark up of about £110 on the actual cost). My own vet has said that they don't charge any extra on top of the lab cost, but this vet has said that £380 is what they charge, and that's what I have to pay if I want them tested. It seems crazy!!

Crikey! I never realised it cost that much!!!! That is a complete rip off, even without the vets "top up". I think it is disgusting they charge that much, when a lot of the time you have to pay for them on top of the vetting. It really is a licence to print money... Sorry for the rant, not much help to you I know! I hope you do find somewhere cheaper so you can tell them where to go stick it...

I had to have bloods taken at vetting tested (they were positive!) in 2012 and I went through the vet who carried out the vetting. I dont think you can go straight to the labs, (they are all stored at Newmarket and run there if necessary) Mine cost £264 and as I said was in 2012. The price you have been quoted would be about right I think. Good luck
