Had second lesson on Ty with YO. She's been schooling him for about a month now and I've just started having lessons on him again.
For the first time since I've had him I actually had him working nicely - moving off the leg nicely, bending and even came down into a nice outline a few times. Still have the odd paddy but I now know about widening my reins and blocking his head throwing - minute he stops, he gets the pressure relieved but I keep asking for that outline.
Can't tell you what a breakthrough this is. YO has told me a few things that he's been up to in schooling and tbh I'd rather not know! Think he's been doing his 'I don't understand so I'll sit on my bum' etc etc. YO did admit that she thought he was a very difficult horse when she started working him but now realises that he was just schooled badly before and got confused....he really does try and do the right thing one he gets going. YO commented on what great paces he's got once he's relaxed and working properly.
Anyway, extremely self indulgent but think we're really getting somewhere.
