I rode Peter today in the school and tried so hard to get him going forward and correct. He was, as usual a good honest boy and worked beautifully. An aquaintance who was here with a friend all afternoon (long story) spoke to me after and offered me £4k for Peter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excuse me, this is a horse who is LOU! I said I would think about it. I have thought about it and have said NO. It was never about the money and it would not sit well with me. She is a much better rider than me and would probably go far with him but she would have no hesitation in "dropping" him if he could not 'perform'. Don't know why I am posting this really, just a tad "SHOCKED". My intentions for him are still undecided. He is so talented but he is tricky to keep sound. I am learning. I think I would love to see him in a home that he could compete locally sucessfully on a surface but have an assured home despite all that. I would love to keep him but I have 2 other horses that I love deeply and Peter was always bought with intention of giveing him a new start. What a bore, wish I was wealthy!!!x

can't you tell her that, so you have the option of buying him back (for less, obviously!) if he does go wrong? sound like a nice amount of money...
lovely to hear he's going so well for you and rewarding your faith.

She knows all about him. When he goes, he goes. I cannot offer to buy him back as realistically i cannot afford him. He is a big horse and needs shoeing every 4 weeks, and hard feed twice a day every day (when in work). He is however such a nice guy. He is starting to bond with me and i am trying to keep him at arms length. i have a jumping lesson on him this friday which I know i should not be doing but cannot help but indulge myself with him whilst he is with me. x

Sounds to me like your heart is about to start ruling your head, you cant afford him and you didn't get him to keep, you've been offered a lot of money for him and I think you should sell him before you get any more attached or you'll be keeping him for life.

I have followed your progress with him and he was so lucky to find you.

Can the lady take him on loan? Can you offer to take him back if he breaks down, but advise you cannot afford to buy him back.

You know this lady best and wheather she is the kind of person you would be happy for him to go to.

Keep him, you are bonding with him and you are keeping him sound which he might not be if pushed to far to win a rosette.
