I'm meant to be long reining and lungeing Orkan this week between deep physio sessions in WALK. He's been out of work fully for a week and a half now but it such a quiet boy I thought I'd have no problems....

Well after approx 10 seconds of walking he threw himself to the floor, rolled, got up, reared profusely (some amazing walking on back leg feats with no sign of lameness), bronced and galloped around for 10 minutes we me desperately trying to hold onto the lunge line so he didn't get tangled. Hmm interesting for a horse thats meant to be walking after me spending hundreds on vet and physio....

Ruddy horses eh - who'd have em!

I could have quite happily sold 3 eejits to any passing person this morning!

We had one that was meant to walk for 3 months. After 3 tries I asked the vet if I could ride her. He came down and agreed it would be th esafer option for us both. She was a 14.1 PC superstar with a novice owner! Quiet as a lamb once I was on board.

I'm with you on this one!! I'm only walking with a small amount of trot, get to the yard he's having a hooly round the field bucking, galloping etc- sound as a pound.... get on him and he's as lame as a three legged donkey

And my bill so far is £1400

Oh this sounds so familiar, having had a small suspensory injury 6 weeks ago, we managed 6 days of box rest then 4 weeks of hand walking mainly calm.....
however she has done the Grand National box walking, to top it all off I bought an Eqissage and I can't bet the blinking thing anywhere near her!!!!
Lats weekend could have quite easily sold her for peanuts!!!!

Good to know others are in same situation.

Oh dear! My coblet was on 8 weeks off, bless him he was a superstar. However he was getting walked out initially and then built up on horsewalker to 3 hours a day (in three sessions). There was one day he didnt go on the walker and was rearing in hand left, right and centre. Im so pleased his injury allowed him to go on the horsewalker!

Now nearly ready to start canter after 2.5 months off, 1 month of walk and 1 month of trot. Im so frightened he is gonna break again!

**tries not to laugh**.... clearly someone is feeling a tad better lol!

At least you know all the money spent on the vet and physio have had favourable effects.... perhaps a little bit too good!
