Bloomfields/Nissan Horseboxes

Nissan commercial is for std height vans and pickups in the UK. They don't make anything bigger for the UK market (so anything over 3.5 van is an import).
This problem is because a van has been built with a bigger body on the back, a horsebox.
Hence the workshops not being geared up for taller vehicles than std van height.
OP needs to come to an arrangement that the box can go to local dealer who can take the diagnostics trolley out to the vehicle by a few yards at their workshop, then depending on what is found, any works that need to be done could be carried out at another reputable commercial outfit.
Not rocket science OP. Just discuss with Nissan for the ways and means.
Easier said than done. We have asked our local Ranault dealer if they could do the diagnostics test on the forecourt and they have said no because they would not get the warranty work so would not get paid.

At no time was I rude on that thread. Vicky was the one being rude and in fact edited her post! How would you like to pay 50k for a horsebox and then get no support from either the seller or the chassis manufactuer when something goes wrong!
She should have behaved in a more professional manner, but addressing her as “young lady” is pretty demeaning and not likely to help your situation, though I understand your frustration.

You need to get Nissan to authorise this, the Renault garage were correct in stating that. However, for peace of mind I would have gone for at least the diagnostics plug in to at least determine the issue. Might be a faulty sensor, could be anything....
Arrange with Nissan to get it recovered to an authorised outfit.

The local Renault garage would not do the diagnostic plug in on the forecourt, I wish they would have done.

She has edited her original response which was very rude and she was told off by several other people on there. I have a screen shot of her origianl post!

It went to Renault Truck at Thurrock for the service which is every two years but for warranty work it has to go to a NIssan dealer.

How annoying, you'd have thought/ hoped that if they let you service it somewhere then they would be happy for it to be repaired there too! It's a shame that you can't get anywhere to plug it in as there's hopefully a good chance with it being that age that it could be something really simple that it maybe doesn't even need to go to the garage for.

I completely agree, it is annoying but the only problem is we dont want to drive it with the light on. Renault Trucks is in Thurrock and we are in Kent. I would hate for it to break down on the way and they then say we have caused a load of damage and its no longer covered under the warranty. It could run into thousands if the engine were to be ruined. What I would like is a Nissan engineer to come out to us with a diagnostic scanner and put on the box and see what the problem actually is and then go from there. We have actually had a phone call this afternoon from Nissan UK who is supposed to be sorting something out and coming back to us - we await to see!

There must be precedent for a commercial size vehicle which is still under warranty to be recovered to a suitable repair facility under the terms of the warranty if it is not cleared as being fit to drive.

It *might* be a faulty sensor, it might be a serious problem brewing.
You would think so wouldn't you. I cant see why it cant go to Renault Trucks (by recovery vehicle) at Thurrock and they settle the bill with Nissan. I think the reason no one has bothered to help us is because it is under warranty and we wont be paying the bill. Hopefully, as you say, it might just be a fault sensor who knows but it doing my head in.

That is a possibil
If you have breakdown cover, call them, tell them the light is on & get it recovered to the garage. They will usually take it to the destination of your choice.
That is a possibility but Im not sure if we would be billed. Also at the moment we are having trouble finding a garage to take it, they are all full up. I really dont want to have to wait until mid December.

Why would you be billed? If you have homestart that’s exactly what it’s for. I got my pick up recovered from home with a light on last week if that’s any help. If it’s a main dealer there is always a wait unfortunately.

Oh is that a franchise then?
Someone more knowledgeable re company matters will hopefully be along in a bit a but Bloomfields and Bloomfields South appear to be separate companies with different directors, though the two operations must have been working in tandem to some extent.

No evidence that I can find that the main parent Bloomfields company is in financial trouble.

Bloomfields Horse Boxes Limited.

Bloomfields Horesboxes South Limited.

First thing I would do is get a local mechanic to run diagnostics on the lorry- purely diagnostics so won't invalidate your warranty but will definitely get you a step further to getting fixed.
This
I would take a more pragmatic approach - get a local mobile mechanic to run diagnostics on the warning light. Then you will know if this problem would be covered by warranty. If not you would not need a Nissan main dealer.

I think it is someone who buys boxes from Bloomfields and sells them on. Im not certain but I think that what it is.

We are trying to get a Nissan engineer out from our local Nissan garage to run a diagnostics test on it. We cannot drive it as it is.

As I suggested, get it recovered to the garage & then they can run the diagnostics, that’s what recovery is for when you can’t drive it because the light it on. It’s highly unlikely that they will come out to you from the main dealer, when I had to have work done under the Renault warranty it was driveable the first time so they collected it, second time it was dead & it was recovered from my house to the garage.
