Morning all!!
Bloss had a lovely healthy bay colt with one tiny patch of white on his off (i think!) hind. Hes temporarily called Joey - but if anyone has any suggetions of different stable names beginning with J let me know, thats all my tired brain can come up with atm!! His ''posh'' name tho is decided at its Parisienne Jupiter.
I got to the yard at 10:30 last night, she was fast asleep, checked her again at 11:15 still fast asleep so i decided to grab an hrs kip in the lorry. At 11:30 i heard lots of banging which sounded like someone knocking nails into a post or something!!!! I ignored it, and it stopped, then started again, then stopped - so i thought id better check on the beast
30mins later at midnight she'd had him
Everything went smoothly, i think i was very lucky!! Anne (YO) was excellent i couldnt have done it without her! Mare and foal are both fine this morning and my vet is coming out this afternoon to give them both a check over. The only slight problem was there looks like there might have been a missed twin as there is a small hard lump in the afterbirth which Anne thinks was another one - so again Bloss was very lucky. My vet did scan for twins, but obviously missed it.
I only have one picture as it was quite hectic last night!! il get some more today - and stable name suggestions would be good if anyone has any, must begin with J tho!!
I wont be online again until this evening as im out all day with Archie at my trainers today - so will reply to people tonight! (And for anyone who dosent know, dont worry im not abandoning Blossy and foal, as im on a livery yard so the girls will be checking her throughout the day)
