Poor old Blue has had a hard day. First of all mean mummy (aka Me!) made him have a lie in, which he wasn't very pleased about. Then mean mummy put this horrible horrible new headcollar on him that made him walk nicely and back up when he was told to! MM (mean mummy) made Blue walk round the yard several times, made him walk backwards and sidewards and all sorts of things - and he had to behave!

Then the new farrier came. Ellie stood good as gold, as did Blue for a little while, but at only 2 years old he gets ants in his pants, gets bored and starts shuffling about. The farrier managed to get all four feet done really nicely though, and only swore at Blue once

Blue liked the new farrier as he didn't shout at Blue when Blue licked his head!

I really can't recommed the Dually halter enough. It is fab, he walked lovely back to the stable tonight, no messing about for the first time. I bought the pony size as Blue is a 14hh Fell and had been told they come out big but I might have to move up to the cob size if he grows any more.

I think I am in love with Monty Roberts!

Aww, good boy Blue

I changed my farrier a few months ago to James the Farrier off the forum, and he's the only farrier Buddie and Bear have liked lol! And he's good, Bear usually gets naughty if he knows he can get away with it. So James is lucky

I haven't tried my dually halter yet, I bought one at YHL to help with loading. Glad to hear it worked well for Blue, looking forward to trying mine now

Iv just ordered a dually for my new horse it should be here tomorrow. Hes 17.2 and has little respect on the ground. We took him to carrie adams near us yesterday who is a monty roberts/kelly marks RA and she put him in the round pen and did loads with him in the dually and did a join up and it was amazing! He was a different horse, so relaxed, polite and obedient. Came straight home and ordered one. He needed the blue one. Cant wait for it to come.

Must admit I am very sceptical about these new fangled gadgets, but it is brilliant. Blue has always been a bit in your face but I only had to use pressure on the halter once to get him to back up, he did it with me just walking towards him after. I know it will take a little time and he might have forgotten it all by tomorrow but I am impressed.

Blue does hate it though, he is usually great to catch but is already turning round and running off when he sees his new head collar! That bit needs more work!

I wouldn't be without my dually halter for Patrick. He behaves impecably in it... but he knows when he's wearing a 'normal' halter & tries his luck!
