Blue Anky pad - not sure I like it!

I have to admit that I'm struggling to see why everyone raves about them :o

I've got a chocolate brown jumping pad (with loops for the girth to go through) and although I like the colour, the look of it, the thickness and the 'wicking' properties, like Kerry I also find that it can bunch up a bit and that my saddles (2 different saddles on 2 different horses) have a tendency to move a bit so I end up putting an anti-slip pad under it too - don't have this problem with any of the other pads I use

Mine have the lettering on them and never caused a problem. :) I have the Aquarius and White but I'm after more so please do PM me if you have one you no longer need - white pony would like them for his new saddle! :)

Think it was called graphite! There is one on ebay at the moment - watch it and see what it goes for. I already have a grey one, different shade, but don't need another!

lol thats mine on there as I don't use it and I'm not a fan of the colour on my boy :)

The watcher you lost was me! Once I realised my grey one is a very similar shade I figured I don't need another!

Aww not to worry, thats why it's best to watch! Seems to be a lot of watchers, but it's better on someone elses horse than in my spare room (plus it goes in the new bridle fund)

I've just sold all my sets. I was finding bandaging too much stress/time/washing/rolling. Plus, under my dressage saddle I was having the same bunching problem as you K. Strangely under my jumoing saddle (butet) they didnt move an inch, but under the dressage saddle they just bunched a bit too much for my liking.

And to whoever asked about XC in them - I do. I use the white one and it did a full season last year and didn't budge an inch. But I think their moving ability is very much horse/saddle dependent.

Lol I have made myself a new rule, that if I have all these nice bandages I MUST use them so am now using them on front legs whenever I school. Otherwise it's such a waste! Must admit I don't have any anky pads though. Liked the petrol but bought a HKm version!

ZXP - I'm not a fan of bandaging either! But was wondering how dying some of the white "stretch and flex" type boots with the home washing machine dyes would work - has anyone tried this?! I can see it raining and horse going blue though.....

Gosh you could even make matching sets with a white saddle pad/cloth of your choice..... sod whatever colours Anky thinks is "in" this season, I could have my own

I have the new type (graphite and coffee) and the old type (cardinal red). I find the old type works really really well on my wide boy. Doesnt budge a bit where as the new type the lower bit moves back and bunches as you say. The New type work much better on my narrow tb where it doesnt move at all appart from if you dont pull it right up at the front sometimes it moves down over the withers.
Im currently selling my anky cardinal red pad as my wide boy now needs a grippy saddle cloth to keep his saddle in place and doesnt suit my mare as well if anyone is interested PM me. :)

If it's the Hazel one...that'd be mine!! Only selling it and some other stuff to fund new saddle purchase!

Just to put a spanner in the works, I actually prefer the HKM numnahs/pads. Loads of colours to choose from with matching bandages if you like and not over priced!

I'd love a Anky saddlepad, the colours are wonderful! (I like the Army green, Hortensia and sangria). Where's the best place to get one?

I'd love another HKM, we have a blue one and it's gorgeous!

I'm a saddle pad addict thanks to this forum.

TBH I've been in the matchy, matchy clique since the early 90's when I first started riding.

I have 4 Anky pads and 6 HKM pads for my two and have loads of colours on my wish list :D

I'm not so keen on the Euro Star type pads though.
