I mean the ones with coloured linings on the browband and noseband (usually with matching diamante browband) - are these acceptable in the dressage ring (mainly BE dressage)???
Why have one at all? A saddle cloth that is? I know it keeps the saddle cleaner, but I think it would take away from showing how the horse work as you would focus on the white (subconsciously) but then maybe thats the point
Hmm, fair enough, but i think the whole appearance of using a white saddleclothe is so much smarter than a numnah. I use one for all three phases, but thats just my preference
I think darker colours can look just as smart, but prefer saddleclothes either way
If you choose the right size and cut of saddleclothe they shouldnt "obscure" the horse at all
Hmmm - I asked a friend who is a BD dressage judge the same question and she said not to chance it. We looked at the rule book - can't remember quite what it said - Christmas eve - a few glasses of wine etc - but looks like the judge has some discretion. It was in bold and I am sure it said something about being discrete or something. Rossette bits at the side were not allowed! My friend once got eliminated in a BD test for gloves that had a subtle pattern - she would have won otherwise so just ghoes to show if you have a real nasty judge that doesn't like you it may not be worth it.
