Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has experienced negative effect when they started to feed blue chip?

I started to feed my IDx on it about 2 weeks ago and he keeps exploding when ridden. Today he was totally hyper and just bronced! one he got it out his system he was fine. Nothing has changed apart from adding blue chip.

I have heard rumors that is can fizz horses up, but never actually heard anything for anyone first hand!

Yep - I had exactly the same with my TBx mare, this was many years ago but you couldn't even ride her, took her off the Blue Chip & she was normal again. I have them all on Topspec now - no problems.

Nope mine was ok when i feed it although i hadn’t had him long and he was a nut case so looking back it might have been the feed *wonders off to think about it more*.

Sorry not much help.

my girl was fine on it, I had no problems at all and I know lots of other people who swear by it. My YO had to take her boy off of it as it sent him doolally!!! It may be the Blue Chip, it may be the time of year???

My mare has been on Blue Chip for 4years now and no change in personality.

At the moment she is very bouncy but thats the weather

I have had two that went mental on blue chip, I thought it was a combination of blue chip and suger beet in the diet but they were still idiots on the Blue chip.

Hi All,

I put my young super stressy warmblood on blue chip as I thought she may be missing something nutritionally which accounted for her behaviour,

That was 2 years ago she is still on it now and she is super chilled out.... more so this spring than ever before!

They are all different - I had a horse previously that really fizzed on calm and condition, whilst in heavy work...

I hope you find a feed more suited to your horse,

Good Luck

I think it will be this time of year & the weather that makes them all go a bit nuts at the mo.

I suppose it could make horses *feel* really good as it certainly makes them look good!

I have never had a probelm with Blue Chip, wonderful stuff!

I had issues with Blue Chip, Cappy went loopy on it. I think they changed the recipe or something, because he was alright for ages and then went mad. Stopped as soon as I took him off it. Now he is on Calm and Condition (Allen and Page) and we are both happier.

I'm using Blue Chip (Lami Lite) and my boy has gone from totally unpredictable to calm and chilled out. He's also wintered out incredibly well only this and hay (clipped and rugged). I'm very impressed with the stuff!

Heya

may not be the feed, I have been wondering if the beginnings of spring grass are coming through? Dyl is welll full of it, though could be because he is off after getting kicked out hunting

hope the big man is himself again soon! xx

Skewby, I thought about it being the start of spring grass. I do believe everywhere is slightly greener. But the behaviour change is also coincidental with the addition of blue chip. After a good gallop in the outdoor (so nice to have an outdoor big enough for that) he was an angel

At uni we learnt today that recent research shows horses can get up to 50% more from their hay and forage once on Bluechip.... This might account for the endless energy and naughty behaviour some of us are seeing!!

Hey my mare had totally chilled out on bluechip, noticed a massive difference. She only has it with mollichaff show shine and speedibeet...i dont feed extra nuts or mix....dont need it!

I am REALLY pleased with bluechip!
