I was wondering if anyone found bluechip Balancer as good as or better than others in the field? Ie. topspec, D&H..

I find that too many people (Thankfully not many on my yard) dabble in hard feeds too much mixing and matching rather than letting be.

Ive always fed topspec balancer to most of the horses in my care- unless its been asked not to, even good doers to make sure they are getting all vits and mins and found it very good.

However, my friends old boy became very lethargic on it so she changed to bluechip and OMG the change is almost magical! But i thought most balancers were based around the same thing so how could it make THAT much of a difference?

The horse in question is 26YO and doesnt look (Now anyway) a day over 6YO!

I feed my lad Blue Chip every day along with Hi Fi Lite & he looks really good. He's no where near the age of your old boy but it sems to suit him. As for wether it's better than Top Spec or other makes I can't say as I started him on it along time ago, it suited him, so I've left things as they are.

I feed my TB blue chip and top line with alpha a and it has made a differnce to him without making him silly

I feed Blue Chip through the winter and really see a difference. Took him off it at one point last winter and my instructor commented on the fact he looked a bit poor so put him back on it.

I have never had good results with Top Spec but do find D&H's Ultimate Balancer good too.

I always use BC for my weanlings for at least their first winter or longer if they need it; it makes a huge difference to them and I wouldn't dream of not using it for them. I have had no joy from Top Spec at all, it obviously doesn't suit mine as it makes no visible difference to them; within a week of feeding BC you can see the improvements.
