I'm thinking of trying Blue Chip feed balancer on one of my ex racers to just give him that extra "something" in a couple of the bigger shows he'll be doing.

He looks really well but I'd just like him to really shine. Just wanting people's views on Blue Chip like does it really make a big difference, does it heat horses up etc etc..

Many thanks

I was recently looking for something to give mine that glow for county showing, ive been using baileys outshine, and it really has given that glow. I feed miniumal amount and its really given his coat a glow, its not put weight on (but not feeding amounts for weight) Its also beefed gim up without been grossly fat. It has not heated him up at all. In fact im now looking for something to that!!!:)

Ooooh that's the other thing I wanted to ask - how palatable is it? He wouldn't eat Bailey's Outshine (is it me or does it smell fishy?) he's really fussy!

Ah i dont have that problem, mine will eat anything that includes ham sandwiches, steak crisps and handbags!!:D
Outshine does come in spearmint/peppermint cant remeber which. That may be worth a go?
I have known horses to be fussy with bluechip at work, said horse is now on dodson and horrel build and glow which seems to work well, although it doesnt matter if he fizzes up so not sure how that would effect a TB?:)

Use Equilibra, it is just as good and a lot cheaper.

If you do use Equilibra then you really only need to feed a few Tiger Oats if you need an extra bit of 'oomph'.
Works out cheaper in the long run.

Your boy looks lovely.

I feed it to my TB and swear by it. It gives his coat a lovely shine (not naturally like that we got him in a right state) it doesn't fizz him up at all despite the fact he is a very 'hot' horse. He's also an extremely picky eater and loves his Blue Chip. He tries to eat it first in his food.

It seems expensive but it isn't as the bags last ages. In the summer 1 bag lasts us 4 months but in the winter 3 months as we give him more in winter.

I had mine on outshine we had the baileys nutritionist out and thats what she recommended my horse went loopy so changed bac to what i was feedin him before and added blue chip hes got a lovely shine to his coat and every time my vets on the yard she's got a soft spot for my pony she always comments on how good his condition is as did the back woman last time i had her out

Cheers guys for all your input, definitely don't need any more oomph!

Going to give it a go and will let you know how I get on.

Last question, do you use the original?
