I dont like them to be honest, but one of the nicest mares I know has one and I love her..... so dont think it makes me not like the horse itself..... Just not a want in MY horse
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. It is like colour as far as I am concerned (I don't really like bay or sorrel, but I have two of each) if they do the job then the colour of the eye doesn't make an iota of difference.
As to whether I like blue eyes or not, well, that depends on the shade of blue and the amount of white. I prefer the eye colour of my pinto mini rather than that of my paint mare.
Robin has 'away with the fairy' eyes.
Charley has bright blue eyes, well, one full blue eye and one partial blue, his are more noticable because his head is totally black.
I think it depends on the horse but they do look much more striking against a dark coat. I don't mind either way. They will catch the eye of other people whether they like them or not!
I dont really like them... but it wouldnt put me off buying if I really liked the horse/pony... actually we did buy a Welsh D Mare that had two blue eyes... I hated her eyes but got used to them and actually grew to like them a bit
My friend has a coloured cob with blue eyes.. I dont like them but they suit him and he is the most gentle genuine pony ever so again grown to quite like them..
Oh this seems to be a very split thing between love and hate, interesting! Still off to see yearling tomorrow though, so will see how blue the eyes are in real life!
