Blue eyes ?????????????????

Hi, it depends on the horse. My dad has a coloured mare with a white head but black ears, the black comes down over half of both eyes. Where her face is white her eyes are brown and where her face is black her eyes are blue. Her name is Princess because it looks like a tehara (sp). I think she is lovely but not everyones cup of tea. I like half blue eyes but not keen on full ones.

Iit depends on the type of horse, and colour for me.
If it's a coloured, I think it really suits them, as it does with greys too, but not on darker coloured horses, or palaminos.
I don't think they suit finer horses though.

Never liked them till I got a mare with one blue eye, now they have kind of grown on me!!! I think they suit some horse more than other though.

Love them

Both eyes blue. I find them a bit spooky, and lacking the expression that 'normal' dark eyes do. Also, blue eyes generally mean pink skin, which is just somewhere else to get sunburned. Both her foals had blue eyes.

Basically though, if the horse does the job required then I couldn't give a monkeys what colour the eyes were, or what anyone else thought. I like Robin just the way she is.

Love them.

One went to try a dark bay mare, with just a thin stripe down her face but 2 blue eyes, by god she was striking!!!

Also tried a bright bay at Lyn Russells once who was similar with blue eyes - too much horse for me at that time, but she was gorgeous.

I don't like blue eyes at all. I have a horse who lives here and he has one brown eye and one dark blue eye. I always speak to him from the brown eye side as I think he looks so much nicer on that side, Lol!! His blue eye, however, is really interesting patterns and shapes, so I can look at it and admire the colouration, but he looks a bit wild from that side and I prefer his "calmer" look from the brown side.

I'd never buy a horse with a blue eye.

I dont like them, my horse has one and I much prefer his other side!

Not the best pictures as he looks awful in the first one!

Would never have believed I would own one. However when looking for a mare for my daughter the ideal candidate was not only grey but also had two blue eyes.
Shes roan tobiano so they don't look to 'odd' on her and its amazing how you stop seeing them if that makes sense.
My OH jokes that she looks surprised all the time. Shes a gentle sweetie and thats what matters most.

No, they are not.
I never liked blue eyes until I bought a beatiful black boy with such stunning blue eyes. In Welsh's it is supposed to be a sign of good 'old' breeding lines.
There is a difference between blue eyes and wall eyes though, and I don't generally like wall eyes.

Oh, like the others, I would be interested in this. You live and learn.

I was always told that it was just another name, Wall eye, Blue eye, China eye, same thing.

If it had the ability, or suitability for the job you required wouldnt care less, just a no no for showing i think. I actually think there quite cute!
