As title. It's just started in the last few days. We haven't changed his food at all.
Any ideas as to why he might be doing this?

None, but as Red does it you have my full sympathy. Is it all poo or just from one dog?

I feel your pain , my terrier bitch does it and she seems to have taught my lurcher

Red now knows she mustn’t, through training, and when she finds one stares at me with her head very erect. If I ignore that she eats the poo, if I call her away she leaves it. So try a mixture of stick and carrot to break the cycle?

Mine know the leave it command so I don’t have a problem if I see her go to do it but sometimes she does if I haven’t noticed , it’s a horrible habit

He hasn't always done it, it's a recent habit. I wondered if he's missing some kind of nutrients in his diet. Or maybe he's just being cheeky...

Scout and Ffee will eat the poo the terrier across the road does. I’ve no idea what’s he’s fed but day glo Mr Whippys are obviously quite tasty.

I do think dogs that have had a poor lifestyle and diet are more likely to do so.

My female will attempt to eat her own (lifted as soon as it lands) but will treat all others' like landmines. Does a great capriole if her foot touches one.
Someone told me it was something to do with mothering and she is quite hormonal. Doesn't help the OP!!

My Lab likes any dog poop, generally. She's always eaten her own poop if give the opportunity since she was a pup. Always healthy and fed right 
she also just has an insatiable appetite.
I have seen her try to eat my other dogs poop as it was literally exiting her bum
On walks and whatnot she's been trained out of eating poop though.

Red has got squittybot. She gets this when she has eaten something even the foxes won’t touch. It has made her more poo orientated. I think I’m going to get her some probiotics. I wondered if they might be an idea for Blue?

Mine ate hers as a puppy until I started picking it up straight away. She stopped trying when I put her on better food and a probiotic. She doesn’t try to eat other dogs’ poo thankfully - just cat, rabbit, horse, sheep etc.

I couldn't work out why there were so few of her poos in the garden and then I saw him do it We pick it up as much as possible but it's difficult after snow. Anyway, today the vet gave us this stuff to give both of them to help break the cycle ... There's something of a Victorian remedy about it in the description on the packet, but I'm willing to try. Fingers crossed it just seems to have been a brief fad with Blue, he hasn't tried to do it lately. Maybe there was a visitor dog in the area with especially good poo who has now gone home.

Well so far so good on the Forbid. Puppy is still sniffing at his sister's poo as it comes out, but then not choosing to gobble it up. It's not putting them off their food (they are both getting a dose twice a day) and no tummy upsets (I was a bit concerned as I have no idea what's in it!). It does seem to be a bit of a habit for us here, so we may need to go through a few boxes of the stuff.
