Do I conclude from the website that the Police Horse of the Year comp and all the interesting displays re emergency services will not be there this year? If so, that is a great pity as the family enjoyed a great day out there last year - not worth going to see just another combined training comp (sorry).

That's correct,

Lack of funding across the services meant the public displays etc and indeed the whole show was cancelled.
It is only being run thanks to 2 of the competitors taking on the running and cost of the show.

However there are jumping classes for the public on the Sunday.
