Bluebells

Honestly staring at my coffee in disbelief ?
I always poke fun at the OH because to me most English accents say paw, poor, pour etc the same, and they all have different vowels so how can they... But now my entire worldview is crumbling because of stitchwort ?
You'll be muttering it all day!!

Lovely photos! We are very lucky at the yard to have access to a big wood straight from the yard so I've been taking my two for walks in there (dog is on strict box rest) and the bluebells are just stunning.

We do have some bluebell woods in Scotland. If you’re near Loch Ness check out a Urquhart Bay woods ? or Balmacaan Wood near Drumnadrochit.

I won’t see any this year being on lockdown on the hill but usually love seeing them in native woodland off the hill on dog walks. They’re beautiful.
I think the most beautiful display I’ve ever seen is at the church in Ballachulish ?View attachment 45156
Hopefully next year I shall be able to see them as non of those places are that far, in the middle of leaving at the moment and trying to reduce risk of infection for all so no trips out other than work.

(As he doesn’t fly I tell him he is the only carbon negative person in the world).

us as well, we have planted lots of trees over the years and neither of us fly.

Our little wood is now 35 years and we have lots of Claytonia as well a some blue bells. Sadly a fair number of the trees we planted were ash and we are suffering very badly. Very very depressing. Like losing family.

Come on you two, lay off the wine when typing!
It’s the only thing that gets you through a lambing ! ?
If only, I haven't had a drop since lambing started, I cant get to the shops whilst they are open and I also can't book click and collect for someone else to collect it and delivery is impossible to get too.
Things are getting desperate I am almost out of milk for my cups of tea, bread and veg are completely out.

How sad. I don't really remember the elms but photos of the farm here (OH's parents moved here in 1963) show great rows of magnificent trees. We have a lot of young ash in our woods but they seem to be OK. The older ones out in the meadow hedges have taken a hammering, although they sort of get over it they never look as good and three have blown down. Good firewood though. :-)

It’s a pain isn’t it! I’m utilising our local Co-op which is a 20 mile round trip as it’s almost impossible to get a delivery. I was jesting about the wine as actually I don’t drink, unless copious amounts of strong tea are included. Do you have a local shop you can nip to in between checking sheep?

The problem I have is that my driver I in his early 70's and high risk but he won't stay at home so I can't pop into anywhere.
We are 20 miles from the nearest supermarket and by the time I finish work the journey to the shops mean I will arrive at the supermarket as it closes.
Other half is working alone but his sheep are all really close together and the nearest local shop is 10 + miles away and currently closes at 10 am so is open during the busiest time of day.
I really just need milk and bread the rest can wait.

OH and I walked over to the local bluebell woods yesterday, they are amazing.
A plus side of lockdown is I have never gone and stood and stared at them before, which is really shameful

They are heavenly aren't they? I do an annual walk to our local bluebell wood, usually about 6am, only photographers there then! One plus side to lockdown is the bluebelles are even stronger this year as they haven't been trampled on by the masses or ripped up and taken for people's gardens, thanks to trip advisor one of our most beautiful places is becoming over run and destroyed.

Very similar situation to me but thankfully I drive myself so don’t need to rely on others. Is there nobody locally who’d collect bread and milk and leave it somewhere handy for you?

The bit of the wood that has a footpath up to it is nearly bare, you have to go well up into the private bit to see a good display. ( I had permission). Why can’t people just look and enjoy?

If I could order click and collect then I could get it picked up, my problem us I feel bad asking someone to go into a shop for me when I am not going in because of the risk to the person I am working with.
It will get to the point I have to ask though, click and collect my other half could pick up, he though is high risk too.
