When feeeding Bluechip, do you feed it on it's own or with other feeds? I have always feed it with others but when I was talking to someone last night she thought it should be feed on it's own!
What's your thoughts?

It's a balancer so you feed it when you are feeding below the recommended level of any hard feed, or to balance a forage diet.

If you don't feed any hard feed then feed it on it's own alongside forage, if you feed hard feed you mix it in with that.

I feed my mare blue chip! In the winter she has blue chip original with chaff and sugar beet. In the summer she has blue chip lami lite on it's own as she is out 24/7. She also has plenty if hay in winter! I love it makes her look good and is the only feed I've found that doesn't turn her into a pysco!

It mellows one of mine out & sparks the other one up - no idea why!

I feed it alongside Winergy Equilibrium and plenty of haylage - you can feed it alongside the diet you are planning but you need to be sure you are feeding less than the recommended amount of the conditioning cubes. I think you may be over supplementing if you feed it alongside the RDA of cubes and you will certainly be wasting your money. Someone on here may know better than me in those circumstances or you could speak to the nutritionists at Blue Chip or your feed company.

Hi Chelle

I tried Blue Chip for my mare when I bought her, but I didn't rate it at all. I gave her Calm and Condition with just some chop in and it seemed to work.

How are you getting on with him?

With my current horse who's very exciteable I feed with just alpha oil, and if he loses condition more we feed sugar beet aswell.

With my old horse who needed energy we fed him blue chip, competion mix and alpha oil. I think it just depends on the horse, but I would probably always feed with forage.

He'll be on ad lib hayledge as well but he is underweight and underconditioned at the mo, so I was trying to figure out what was best

Rebelzmum- good luck tomorrow, I hope it goes OK! will keep fingers and toes crossed for you xx
