So I psyched myself up to 'do' Sov's sheath this morning, got the gloves the Sheath Cleaning lotion and plenty of lukewarm water.
It was really manky big lumps of smelly smegma came off and some required a bit more massaging, but overall I was pleased with my first attempt. My gross dogs were hovering and eating the manky lumps *puke*!
Anyway I hacked out this afternoon and I can honestly say that he was moving much more free behind the saddle, swinging along in walk and trot.
So I guess the build up had been making him uncomfortable and he was 'holding' himself to avoid the discomfort.
BTW the dog are now farting smegma aroma farts!

My poor horse needs his bits washed frequently. Some boys are just more grubby than others. Makes me feel sick that the stable dog drinks the dirty water afterwards!!

I know how you feel.I have one that needs doing at least once a WEEK,but he's good as gold and loves it being done as it makes him comfortable.

Also my new boy ive had 3 months is just starting to "smell" down below,so i will have to do him in the next few days.I dont think he will a pain as he doesnt flinch when i stick the hosepipe up there LOL.
