BMW X3/X5

Does any one have one of these??
Thinking about getting the X3, mainly for towing my Ifor 510. I know that the max towing weight for the X3 is 2000 kgs, but I will more than likely only be transporting one horse (so total weight would be something like 1600kgs). The engine size is 3L I think, so should be powerful enough even though its a slightly smaller towing weight than for most big 4x4s, such as the disco.
anyway would be really interested to hear if anyone had any experience with one of these.

i would get the x5, for towing. they tow much better than the x3.

It is never a good idea to buy a car with the minimum legal towing ability, that always assumes you will have access to a lightweight trailer and a lightweight horse. The reality is, that sooner or later someone will beg you to take their horse with you, and then you are over the limit.

Bigger is better when towing.

We had an X3 and i absolutely hated it!! They are the most awkward vehicles to get into without smacking your head. We never towed with ours as we have a Discovery for towing.

We only kept ours for 3 months. It was nice to drive but the getting in thing really annoyed me. I'm only 71/2 stone and 5'4" so not a big person.

Never been in an X% so cant comment on how much better they are. Hope this is some help.

urgh - i wouldn't tow with an X3. what's their kurbweight? they dont look big enough to tow a 510. X5 would be much better.

Hi..have an X5 and love it...haven't towed with it but OH says would be fine.....wouldn't go with the X3 for towing....hope you get sorted xx
