boa boots or similar,your experiences please!!!

hi all!!!as the title says really,i have a 6 yr old who has been not picking his back feet up properly and so is making the front of his shoes flat on his back feet.my vet came yesterday and thought it could be bad shoeing,i am limited to farriers in my area so i am thinking of removing shoes and trying boas or similar type of thing!!any info appreciated,thanks in advance!!

DONT get boas :/
Not sure if the design has changed, but the cord constantly breaks,
If I were you I'd get some simple boot, ie Cavello (sp?)
Or Old Macs

I use old macs very successfully, had them on my stallion all winter out on boggy ground, took them off at night as the foot does need to breath. I hacked out all winter in them, walk trot and canter, never came close to losing one. They must be fitted with care, there is a chart on their website on what size to use. The cost of them is equivalent to a set of shoes, and I've had mine two years now with very litttle wear. Check on Ebay, they sometimes come up on there a bit cheaper.

Wow, loadsa boot/barefoot threads this morning!

I have Easyboot Gloves for my pony. Very easy to put on, but they have to fit well.

iv got boa boots not had a break yet but only walk on roads with mine seems ok so far

I use Boa boots as emergency measures when shoes come off on a ride, and also in cases of abscesses etc. I've never had a problem with the cord breaking and I think they're the best boots I've used - I've also tried Easiboots, Shoofs and Davis boots. They are easy to fit and don't rub or rotate.

I use BOA boots for 3 of my horses and the wire has broken once - over a 5 year period.

I use them for hacking out and we canter and jump . The only real issue I have with them is that they have a rubbish, non existant grip.

I've been looking at the Easy Boot Gloves and think they look fab so I might have to save up for some!
