My father has had an accident and been taken into hospital (not sure how long for) and we're having problems in getting accommodation for his dog on account of it being completely unvaccinated (foolish, but that's a separate issue!!)

Can anyone make any suggestions as to anywhere that could take him? We're based in the East Midlands but would be prepared to travel. The dog is currently being cared for but in less than ideal circumstances as he is dog aggressive and is having to be crated for extended periods, so we urgently need somewhere.

help and suggestions really appreciated!

Most boarding kennels will only take vaccinated dogs or their insurance will be invalid, so I think you will be very lucky to find somewhere that's willing to take him. You may be able to find a home boarder that is willing to take him(though his dog aggression will narrow your choices considerably), or you could see if a local rescue/cinnamon trust can suggest a fosterer, even if it's just for the 2 weeks it will take to get his vaccs up to date.

Thank you Pendelhog- hadn't thought of a fosterer!! Will get googling.... And if any such fosterers are reading this in the midlands, PM me!

Try the appropriate breed rescue - they will have a list of people prepared to do a short term foster. Even if the dog is a x breed they will help, eg Lab x call the Labrador rescue and have a chat.
