Am asking on behalf of a friend who wants to know if she is paying the right sort of price for her small terrier to board.

He will live in an outside kennel and run and be taken out for two hour long walks per day. On top of this there is a large 'play pen area' where he can spend time with other dogs that he gets along with and similar size and temperament. He also gets two meals a day.

For this she is being charged £ 20 per day. Is this the going rate and is this routine pretty standard.

That sounds about right to me

My OH's family have a kennels and thats what they charge (luckily i get 1/2 price... but works out the same as i have 2 sharing! Lol) But they don't mix dogs usually at any point.

I home board, I charge £10 for small breeds, and £15 for meduim to large per day, I offer the same, only they are kept indoors, not kenneled, I would say it's very reasonable, im prob a bit cheaper then I should be.

If the dog really does get a 2 hour walk a day, then I would say it is reasonable......I can never find one that will give more than a 10 minute play in a field, so I try to leave mine at home with a housesitter where possible!
