Body protector advice needed

Hello,

I'm looking into purchasing a new body protector. I'm 15 and I do a lot of jumping so I don't want it to be like a plank down my spine! Obviously would prefer not to break the bank on price but if it is better am willing to pay for the top ones, just not sure which one to get!!! There are so many! I'm a size 8 if that helps?

Any help or recommendations would be fab!!!

I can't offer my opinion on lots of different ones but i absolutely love my racesafe 2010 body protector, although it is pretty pricey I think the comfort is worth it!! Like I said, I don't know what other bps feel like on, but I've heard that it is the most comfortable and flexible one on the market! I could live im mine!! :p
 
I think when buying a BP you have to go and try a few on. I went last year wanting a racesafe or an Airowear but the racesafe didn't come close to fitting me and my curves. I have an Airowear Outlyne and it is pretty good and comfortable. It really depends on what suits your shape rather then picking a brand I think.
 
I have the outlyne and love it but as said above please go and try some on. When i was 15 it was a case of put one on and zip it up. It looked like an egg box :D
 
As the above say , you have to try many different makes on until you find the one that fits you correctly and is comfortable ...then thats the one ! If you are an adult you are not going to out grow it so it will last many years so worth spending the money . Most , I find, are too long in the back , they should only finish between waistband and tops of pockets on a regular rise jean ish , lower and it will hit the cantle and could knock you out of the saddle . Take your time , dont be pushed into buying something that you are not 100% happy with . Good Luck !
 
I have an Airowear Outlyne, it was fitted at my local tack shop and I would definitely recommend trying some on with someone on hand who knows how it should fit. I really like mine, totally different to what I had as a kid and actually quite comfortable (even though I'm quite big chested)! Best tip I was given - put it on before you tack up so by the time you get on it has warmed up and softened a bit
 
Yep, another vote for the Airowear. I use an air jacket more now which is great in the hot weather and gives more freedom, but is three times the price and £18 every time it goes off.

Don't just try one one, make sure the tack shop fit it for you and get you to sit in a saddle too!

My wife is a size 8 and ended up having to get a kids one made with adult size arm holes. We paid the kids price, £125 I think, plus £20 for the alteration.
