I've finally decided that I need to upgrade my 15 year old body protector, now that I'm intending to start taking one of my youngsters to do XC schooling!

What brands do you recommend? And looking online I'm not sure about sizing - I'm 5'10" and size 10 and unless I'm measuring myself all wrong it looks like nothing will fit! I would like to go and try some on but all my local tack shops only seem to stock one or 2 brands in limited sizing.

Anyone else out there a similar size, and found something that fits?

I'm the same size as you and have an Aerowear (sp?) body protector. Aerowear are quite good as they make gender specific ones. I tried on a unisex one and felt so uncomfortable across the chesticles!

I went to a large saddlery shop and they fitted it for me. I needed to have a different size back to the one that normally goes with the front (think I needed it slightly shorter). They custom fitted it without a problem!

I have an Airoware body protector and am 5'8 and a size 10, they fit really nicely. I got my fitted in a tack shop as well. they have loads of different size variations :)

Air o wear do a long back length and an extra long so you'll be able to get one slim enough but long enough if you go for an outlyne. Otherwise try a race safe as they also do made 2 measure.

Airowear it is then! It's actually the only brand stocked in my local tack shop so I'll go and try them on. My old body protector was Airowear, still fits around but is far too short now so a longer length but not wider would be ideal.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Have a look at a the woofwear on on equestrian clearance - they did three widths and an extra long length - I've just got an extra long length and it fits me at 5'9" - they have a good size chart there too and I would say from mine it is accurate - I needed a wide one with the height, but you won't lose anything looking.
