Body protector and hat the same colour?

My son is having a riding hat which is navy (velvet) and a body protector which is black for his birthday. A few people have said i should change one so that they are both the same colour. What do you think? Thanks

I think you should get them the same colour, just to look matching and smart

I have to have everything for my horse in red so that it matches

Depends if he's going to be wearing the bp on the outside of his jacket/sweatshirt or not, but i'd say matching, too.
