Body protector is so ugly

This thread made me laugh and think back to being young again. My parents made me wore a body protector from seven to sixteen, at which point they couldn't force me anymore :D

My mum bought me one to do an xc on as a kid. I insisted on wearing it in my next riding lesson which was a good thing as my pony decked me and kicked me in the chest and knee. I came away with chipped bone in my knee. Gawd knows what would have happened to my chest without the bp on. I also was obviously wearing a hat which is another good thing as the letter E fell off the fence and onto my head!

I rarely wore the bp again after that. I have to wear one for my job now but I have one of those lovely ridiculously flexible jockey ones, and yes the tail does get flipped up. Annoyingly they changed the design and sizes of them so my new one doesn't fit me quite as snugly but it will get better with wear. I never wear one at home but then I rarely ride at home these days!

Wear the bp and have SO much fun!!!

It isn't that your friend doesn't need a BP either, it's not a piece of equipment that you grow out of or stop needing. I wear mine every time I jump and if I was taking a horse I'd only known for 2 months to the beach for the first time I would most certainly be wearing mine there too! If it's good enough for every single racing jockey and event rider, it's good enough for me.

Do come back and tell us how it was! Xxx
