Body protector issue

I've recently bought a new body protector from decathlon by Smart Rider, on the decathlon website it says it is beta level three but it doesn't have the purple beta label.
Does anyone know anything about the smart rider panel body protector and if British eventing would let me compete xc in it?

It has to have the beta label visible on the outside, and it must have a date on it - either 2000 or 2009. There has been some debate that BE are actually breaking the law by demanding this, but that discussion has gone a bit quiet. Quite how BE intends to carry out the checks now that so many people wear an air jacket over the top seems to be a point which no-one has considered at all!

Bottom line is, if your BP doesn't have a BETA label on it, with a date of 2000 or 2009, then it isn't BE legal. The label has to be on the outside and visible.
 
Oh shoot. They don't accept returns on safety equipment either so they have told me its beta approved and its not
 
They should accept a return on that - I would kick up a massive fuss! That is a trades description issue and if they won't take it back I would be contacting trading standards.

So does this mean that the Kan's are not legal ? Don't they just have the label on the inside ?

OP, I would definitely be returning it and making a HUGE fuss if they tried not to take responsibility ! - Good luck !

Actually, checking the rule book, this isn't in there - presumably it was just something mentioned on the BE discussion forum re the spot checks?
 
How will they know if its beta approved? They don't get tagged to they? And Idoubt they study everyone's as they are going xc to make sure there is a visible purple label on it
