Hi, I’m Paul, I took up riding horses when I was 60 and I’m now doing long-distance endurance racing in France!

Eventually everyone has to fall off, I bought a back protector which seems to protect my spine, but it doesn’t protect your pelvis!

Does anyone know of a good back protector that gives good back protection including the pelvis area?

I’ve fallen off twice and although I’ve managed to avoid serious injuries, each time I’ve hit my pelvis on the rocks and there doesn’t seem to be anything to protect this area.

Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated

Add an air jacket (Hit Air, Point 2 etc) over your body protector - as you come off it inflates instantly to protect pelvis right up to neck. I'm 67 and wouldn't ride without one, we don't bounce like we used to 🤣. Not cheap but worth it. Good luck with your endurance racing.

Hit Air vest. They provide neck and pelvic protection. I’ve recently bought one and set it off so that l could see what happened! They inflate very quickly and give good coverage. Not cheap to buy but very comfortable to wear and do need a decent pull or fall to set them off.
