Just curious if anyone here ever wears a BP if so when?
I ALWAYS wear mine out hacking (even on my pony who is fab) and I always wear it when jumping and when getting on new horses.
How about you?

How did your body protector break your arm?

I only used to wear mine for XC but after a bad fall SJ three weeks ago i will now wear it for SJ too. It would probably have saved my broken rib and bruised kidney.

well I was cantering round a corner pony spooked he went one way I went other landed on my side with my arm underneath me, but If I didn't have my body protector on my body wouldn't of touched my arm at all, but I did have it on the side strap things went into my arm, and now I have a very bent arm, I can fit my body protector into the bend haha!

i only wear it when im forced to rly...

i wore it last week when hacking flyn out because he was hyper and i didnt think i would come back alive!

LMAO dare I even ask?

well.......
we were havin a decent canter on the hack n a couple of calves ran out... flyn ran after them (eeeeejit) but obviously a fit 15.3hh horse is gonna go faster than a couple of baby moo cows... we did a slightly 'elevated' stride of canter.
cool.gif
and the baby moo cows were no longer infront of us...

and you know im scared of moo cows.... large or small.

out hacking (especially glad since my horse slipped last night and trod on my arm and kicked me in the back in his scramble to get up and my back is just sore i dread to think what would have happened if i hadnt have had it on)

when doing xc at ALL times

when jumping my novice horse

i dont wear it for showjumping on my other horse

are you ok?
Yeah I bet you are glad to have had it on.

Only when event rules say you have to, or the first ever ride of an unbroken pony. I also wear it XC on the back of dad's carriage. Its surprisingly easy to fall of the back step with drivers like him!

Most of the time, but only to stay on the right side of my OH after my spinal injury.
I don't wear it at "home" in the arena, but always while competing or hacking out.

thank you for asking. i am very bruised and swollen!!! no broken bones just a touch of concussion.

chester had a graze on his hock and a swollen cheek but no swelling to the hock today and his cheek isnt so puffy.... we are both v lucky!!!

I think people must think I'm barmy because I never get on a horse without one on, I even wear one under my jacket to do a dressage test - what a wuss! I fell of at the RS about 6yrs ago when I didn't have one and landed backwards into a jump and broke my ribs in my back and cracked my pelvis, the dr said a bp would of saved me a lot of pain, now I feel naked without one, but I do often feel a bit wet wearing it all the time.
