Wonder if any of you can help?

Im going Body Protector shopping but not sure which one to get?!! There are just so many on the market now.

Ive got the option of getting an Exo BodyCage at a good price but there are conflicting stories about them both good and bad. Have any of you used them?

Recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks

IMO, go for the exo. They may be a bit of a kafuffle to get off but it is going to give the best protection of any. I haven't got one, but got the 2 point thingy that blows up and I think a combination of this and the exo would provide the best protection possible. This however, is a very expensive route so I would go with the exo

I would 150% recommend the Rodney Powell Elite Pro. I have had a few nasty falls in it and *she touches wood* I have been completely unharmed and one of the falls I landed with the small of my back on an XC fence. So I would fully recommend it.

Agree with FigJam, plus it's the only one specifically made for women. [The KanTeq is but is bl**dy uncomfortable.]

Little tip - leave your new bp somewhere warm, then put it on, adjust it to fit you, then leave it on for a bit to cool. Means it will fit your shape much better.

Just a quick note L_P_R I think that I remember them saying that the Point 2 doesn't work with the exo although I'm not sure why.

I have to disagree, I love my KanTeq, if you get one that fits properly you forget you are wearing it. I went XC schooling the other day in a 'normal' back protector cos I forgot my KanTeq and I felt vulnerable.

Ah, I have hypermobility and my scapulas flex outwards [ I can get hold of them

] so everytime I moved in the KT my shoulders hit the solidity of it and it hurt. My Outlyne just flexes round them.

I asked lee about the point 2 and exo together and he said it would not work as the exo would stop the point 2 doing its job - The exo is solid so the point 2 cant do its job of holding you tight when it blows up, although it will still soften the impact and hold your neck I suppose.......?!
I think the exo and point 2 combined as one back protector would be amazing - wonder if it will ever happen !!!!
As for back protectors, I love my Rodney Powell Elite Pro, its super comfy and I always feel very protected it in

racesafe all the way- fits brilliantly which is great for me as not a very big waist and big up top and it fits like a glove.

very adjustable and you don't notice you are wearing it

and they make them up in your colours too!

Airowear. Its so so comfy and because i have a short back but fairly large/wide rib cage it means the racesafe didnt fit me. it is also much more adjustable so if you grow a bit you can loosen, tighten as you please but with racesafe it seemed that that was it really. try on as many as possibly and go with what feels best.

Kan Teq or Exo! As with the point 2, although great, you have to have another one on underneath so it would be £400 for the pnt2 and however much more for another underneath :S

I really like the racesafe. I am difficult to fit as I'm quite petite so they made mine as a mixture of large child and small adult. It's the only one which has ever fitted properly and is very comfortable. I tried an exo and felt like a stranded beetle!
